Thank you for your support, we look forward to working with you and your children.
Week 4

What a busy week!  This week we had Bike Ability support us riding balance bikes. We had great fun riding around the play ground.

During dance we loved pretending to be butterflies and moved calmly around the room gently moving our arms to be wings.

On Thursday we enjoyed some sports day practise with a soft play and activity session in the hall with Active Play. We crawled over, under and through equipment as well as played target games and balancing activities.

During topic work we introduced a new story of 'The hare and the Tortoise' which helped us to think about trying our best and learning from mistakes.

Week 3

This week we listened to the story about George and the dragon. Some of us made a dragon puppet by ripping green paper and adding eyes, wings, a tail and red string for the fire.

We enjoyed another sunny Forest School. We had fun in the mud kitchen, exploring the areas where the plants have really grown and lots of us loved having the sand tray outside too.
Week 2

This week we had a lovely time at Forest School exploring the pond. We learnt how to use a pond dipping net and we managed to catch a lot of pond creatures. Some of us were able to see a newt up close and let it crawl on their hands.

During our topic work we introduced another story from long ago, Jack and the Beanstalk. We watched a version that was accompanied by an orchestra. We enjoyed hearing and watching people play different instruments as we listened to the story.

In Maths we began to think about subtraction. Some of us are listening to counting songs where you have to count backwards, some of us are taking 1 from a group of objects and some if us are subtracting with larger numbers.

Week 1

We have had a great first week back. Some of us have been fantastic at trying new things like playing with sand and balancing on the balance board.

In maths we have been counting in songs and ordering numbers with different representations like Numicon, dominoes and objects. Some of us have been adding larger numbers and remembering strategies taught last half term.

We started our topic off with two old traditional stories. We listened to the story of Cinderella while Mrs Toth  drew pictures so that we can have a go at being storytellers. We also listened to Jack and the beanstalk and look forward to doing some work around this story in the coming weeks.

In Art some of us looked at pictures of dancers by Degas. We had a go at drawing ourselves with pastels, choosing the correct colours for our skin, eyes and hair. Some of us explored mark making with pastels and crayons. Next week we are going to make pictures of ourselves dancing using photographs from our dance sessions on Mondays.
