PSHE

"PSHE at Spring Meadow aims to give children the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that they need to effectively navigate the complexities of life in the 21st Century."

At Spring Meadow, every year group is taught Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education. These lessons develop children's confidence and give them the skills and knowledge to be safe, happy and successful in education and later life. We follow the Cambridgeshire PSHE scheme of learning.

 

As part of PSHE, children will also learn about Relationships Education and Health Education. These lessons are integrated into our wider PSHE curriculum. The aims of these lessons can be seen below:

 

Aims of Relationships and Health Education at Spring Meadow

 

  • Develop confidence to talk, listen and think about feelings and relationships

  • Address concerns and correct misunderstandings and be able to protect themselves and ask for help

  • To teach pupils the correct vocabulary to describe themselves and their bodies

  • Develop skills to make and maintain positive relationships

  • Develop positive attitudes and values and respect differences in opinions

  • Develop a positive self-image and high self esteem
