Behaviour

At Spring Meadow we use a therapeutic approach to behaviour. All staff have been trained in STEPS and we have two trained STEPS tutors. As a school we recognise that all behaviour is a communication and we need to listen to the child.

As a school we have high expectations of behaviour and understand that behaviour is something that needs to be taught and learned. Therefore, as part of our Thrive assemblies and the teaching of our values throughout the school we ensure that we teach children to behave. This enables the children to learn.

We have also created close links with Family workers to support parents with behaviour at home. We host parenting workshops and coffee mornings to support parents with dealing with challenging behaviour at home.

If you have any concerns around behaviour or require support with dealing with your child's behaviour please speak to your child's class teacher.
