Week 5

This week was Science week and we all enjoyed watching with fascination and intrigue what Mrs Toth was going to put in a tuff spot.  On Monday we played with gloop which sometimes seemed like a liquid that we could pour and other times like a solid where we could roll it into a ball shape. On Tuesday we watched balloons inflate when we mixed vinegar and baking soda together in a bottle and put the balloon on top. On Wednesday we made a rainbow using water, food colouring and paper towels. We watched the coloured water travel up the paper and mix to make green, orange and purple. And on Thursday we created another rainbow pattern using skittles and water.

Week 4

This week we learnt a new story ‘George and the Dragon’. We learnt it was a very old traditional story. Some of us enjoyed making a dragon puppet. We ripped paper to make the body and wings. We drew eyes and added tissue paper fire. We loved adding sticks to it so we could fly it around the room and retell part of the story. With it being so hot again we have had lots of water play with bubbles, tea sets and sponges. Some of us are really trying to be successful with new activities in TEACCH drawers. We have loved hearing some children retelling stories we did last half term and others learning to join  different construction sets
Week 3

We had a great day on Wednesday, taking part in 'Sports Day' and having a picnic with our friends and family. All children had fun with a range of activities. I think scoring football goals and balancing tennis balls were firm favourites!  Lots of us also loved the running race! The rest of the week has been a hot one so we have had lots of water activities including tissue paper water art activity and building a Duplo castle in the clouds (bubbly water)

Week 2

This week some of us have learnt how to blow our own bubbles for others to pop.  This has really allowed the children to interact with each other in play more independently. It has been great to watch! We have also had lots of visitors this week. We have learnt how to greet them by saying hello and inviting them to join us in different activities. We have also learnt how to say good by when they have to leave.

Week 1

This we week we began our topic 'Stories from Long Ago' with a new sensory story. The children loved exploring the giants big boots, big coat and giant bowl from the story 'Jack and the Beanstalk.  In Maths we played a new dice game with the Numicon and did lots of counting to numbers above 10.   The children have adapted well to not having Blue Room and some of us have enjoyed exploring new areas of the school in  Reception and soft play in the hall!
