Autumn 2

Transport is our topic for the second  half term in Reception. We will be finding out about different types of transport, transport around the world, transport from the past as well as transport in countries with extreme weather conditions. The knowledge organiser below features key vocabulary that we will be teaching the children.
To support our learning we suggest that you could try to engage with the following low, or no cost activities from 50 things to do before you're 5.
Visit 50 Things to Do | Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and look for these activities!

Week 1
The children have settled back into school routines after their break and have enjoyed learning a range of simple poems about colourful, glittery fireworks. They have tried really hard to use their phonic knowledge to write simple words to describe fireworks such as, red, pop, fizz and gold.

They have been finding out about different types of transport and thinking about transport they have used themselves.
Week 2
Did you know that Miss Huntington has had a ride on a real tuk-tuk? The children found out about tuk-tuks as well as the super fast Bullet Trains in Japan when they were finding out about different types of transport around the world.

Circles and triangles were the focus of our maths learning this week which helped us to add spots to Pudsey's bandana when we enjoyed activities related to Children in Need on Friday. We made patterns and pictures with these shapes and enjoyed shape hunts around the provision.
