Week 4

This week we have listened to the sensory story 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'.  We  counted 3 bowls, spoons, bears and chairs and also matched the different sizes. We enjoyed mixing porridge oats and milk to make porridge. Some of us chose between jam and honey as a topping before tasting porridge. We also enjoyed another sand session with lots of us exploring it with our feet and covering hands and feet with it like you might at the beach. We have also enjoyed a messy paint session with textured rollers on shapes of the three bears.

Week 3
This week has been science week in school. Clover class have watched magic milk where colours swirled around in milk when food colouring and washing up liquid were added. We have been digging in jelly to find animals and looked at the coloured shadows created by the sensory blocks. We have begun some messy play sessions outside to safely explore, sand and water play. Some of the children liked the feel of the sand on their feet and some enjoyed making sand castles. Our sensory story this week has been the 'Three Billy Goats Gruff'. We all got the giggles when the troll jumped up from under the bridge that we had made with the giant Duplo bricks.
Week 2

This week we have continued with the 'Monkey Puzzle' story and the 5 swinging monkeys rhyme. Some of the children have enjoyed exploring the animals in the play sessions and have been able to set up the rhyme and subtract 1 monkey each time.

We enjoyed a great play-dough session this week with sticks, herbs, blossom, play-dough mark makers and cutters. Lots of the children explored the resources very independently creating lovely pieces of art!  The children also sat next to their peers and shared the resources with each other which was great to see.
Week 1

This week in Maths we have loved the number rhyme about 5 monkeys swinging in a tree. We used a crocodile puppet to snap the monkeys out of the tree! We also listened to the monkey puzzle story and enjoyed meeting all the cuddly animals we used in the sensory story. We have got very messy with paint this week, using rollers to make tree trunks and printing on foil to make leaves. We got sticky using feathers and glue to make parrots. We were all very engaged in the music session and listened to a classical piece of music often used with clips of wild animals travelling in Africa.
