Autumn 2
Week 1
Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely half term break.
This week we have been reading 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. The children have really enjoyed the story and have been joining in with the actions and repeating some of the familar words. We also got creative by making our own bear faces! The children used forks to paint textured marks onto the paper before adding cut-out ears, nose, mouth and googly eyes to complete their bears.
We have also been busy getting creative with our Diwali and firworks activities. The children made colourful firework pictures using paint and glitter. We decorated paper plates using paint dabbers, shiny pieces of paper to create our own beautiful Diva lamps. We have been talking about Diwali, what it is and who celebrates this special festival.
Outside the children had lots of fun taking part in our own Bear Hunt obstacle course. They enjoyed travelling through the different obstacles, just like in the story, until they reached the end and discovered the bear hiding in his cave. There was a lot of excited faces along the way!
A big thank you to all the parents who joined us for Rhyme Time on Friday morning. It was lovely to see you joining in with the songs.
Our next Rhyme Time session will be on 20th November. We look forward to seeing you there!
