Headteacher's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a festive week! It was fantastic that so many of you were able to join us for the carol service at the Church. The Christmas maths session looked fun, we hope you found this enjoyable, let us know if you did and we can look into whether we can arrange more later in the year.
Mrs Donnelly is still unwell and will not be back before Christmas. Mrs Golding and Mrs Spencer will continue to work in Oak Class until then.
We are pleased to inform you that we have appointed three new TAs to the school who will join us after the Christmas break. Mrs Ellis will be in Oak Class, Miss Dennis and Miss Woolnough will be working in Reception. We are sure you will make them feel welcome.
After many years at Spring Meadow Mrs Latimer has decided the time is right to try something different. Whilst we are always sad to see staff leave we wish her well for the future. In light of this there will some changes to the staffing in the Infant Assessment Unit. Miss Huntington will remain as the class teacher full time, but Mr Brough and Miss Cross will support the teaching in the class. In preparation for these changes they have visited a similar provision locally and we have the local authority working with us to develop our provision further. There is a drop in session on Monday the 12th December at 3.15pm for parents and carers of Rainbows Class to meet Mr Brough and Miss Cross.
Mrs Fielding will be joining me in school on Wednesday as part of her Keep in Touch days. She is really looking forward to seeing everyone and seeing the progress we have made with developing our curriculum.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best wishes,
Maria Higgins
Interim Headteacher
Additional Updates/Information
Please read the following poem regarding our Christmas tree and jar in the foyer. In the past you have sent in kind
Gifts for the teacher,
But this year, wait….. No!
A fantastic new feature.
Whilst wallets are stretched and
We’re thinking of heating.
Don’t spend your pennies,
We do not need treating.
But if you would like to,
and feel you are able,
Then please buy a book
We can add to our table.
Just check out the tags
On our little tree.
It is covered in books
That we’d love to see.
If you’d like to
Make a kindly donation,
Please give to our jar
and we’ll create a reading nation.
