Headteacher's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week has flown by! Mrs Fielding and Pippa have been in to see the children, the Local Authority  Early Years Advisers have been in school to visit the Nursery and Reception classes. I had the opportunity to teach in Nursery this week, it was wondered to get to know the children better – they loved reading with me but they thought it was funny I didn’t know all of their names (I promise I am trying). We have such fabulous children here, they are so well behaved and kind.

Would you like to support our children to be ‘Kind, Knowledgeable, Independent, Creative, Resilient and Inclusive’? – We have two vacancies for Parent Governors on our Governing Body. You do not need any experience, just a desire to support the school on its improvement journey. You would need to attend around seven meetings a year and carry out a few visits over the course of a term. There is free training available for governors. If you would like to know more come and speak to me on the gate in the morning or get in touch via the school office and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Best wishes,

Maria Higgins

Interim Headteacher

Additional Updates/Information

Curriculum Evening Wednesday 28th at 5.00pm-Phonics - We would like to invite you to join us for a curriculum evening, this will be the first of a few throughout the year. The aim of these evenings is share with you as parents what your child will be learning in school. The focus for this curriculum evening is Phonics. We have recently started a new phonic scheme called ReadWriteInc and would like to take the opportunity to share more information about it with you as parents so you are able to support your child's learning at home.

Bag2School- We need your help! Bag2School is a organisation that recycles second hand clothing. We have the opportunity to collect as much second hand clothes as possible to give to Bag2Schools, for every bag of clothes we get, we then earn money for the school.  If you have any clothes that you no longer wear and would like to donate them then put them in a bag and bring them to the school office. For more information, please see the attached letter and poster.

Facebook and Instagram- Our Facebook and Instagram pages are up and running and we would appreciate it if you as parents could follow and share the page. We will be posting updates as to what has been happening in and around school as well as other information that we think may be useful.

Nits- Please be aware that there have been a few cases of nits reported in school. If you are concerned your child may have nits, please check and get it treated to help stop the spread. Many thanks.
